When you create or order a cookbook, you can choose the type of paper your book is printed on. Here are the options available:
Standard Paper
Our everyday paper — bright, smooth, and great for most cookbooks. Included at no additional charge. A reliable, high-quality choice for gifts, family keepsakes, and everyday use.
Premium Paper
A heavier, more luxurious sheet with a richer feel and excellent color reproduction. A great upgrade when you want your cookbook to feel extra special. Premium Paper adds a small per-page surcharge, shown at checkout.
Waterproof Paper
Built for the kitchen. Waterproof Paper stands up to everything cooking throws at it:
- Fully waterproof — repels water, spills, and grease (not just water-resistant)
- Rip-proof and tear-resistant — holds up to heavy, repeated use
- Heat resistant — withstands temperatures up to 350°F
- Beautiful print quality — crisp text and vibrant color with a smooth matte finish
- No lamination needed — the protection is built into the paper itself
Waterproof Paper is ideal for recipes you actually cook from. Wipe it clean and keep going. Waterproof Paper adds a per-page surcharge, shown at checkout.
What happened to "Rite in the Rain" paper?
We've replaced our previous Rite in the Rain paper with our new Waterproof Paper — a superior product with the same water resistance plus improved durability, heat resistance, and print quality.
If you previously ordered a book on Rite in the Rain paper and choose to re-order it, your book will be printed on our new Waterproof Paper. If you'd prefer a different paper stock for a re-order, you can change it from your book's Preview & Order screen (under My Cookbooks). If someone else is re-ordering your book, they can contact you (the book's author) to change the paper type.
How do I choose my paper?
You'll select your paper option during the Preview & Order step in the cookbook designer, before checkout. You can see the price for each option there before you place your order.
Pricing for the Premium and Waterproof Paper upgrades depends on how many pages are in your book. When you are preparing your digital proofs, you will see the cost of the paper upgrade and have the option to add it to your book. Our covers are coated to be spill resistant.
In what way does the premium paper vary in the image wrap hardcover binding style?
Can you wipe clean the premium paper since it is gloss
Hi Christine, the premium paper is glossy but is not laminated so it does not wipe clean. It can still stain, but it will withstand more wear than our standard paper will.
The price for the upgrade to premium paper has increased by almost doubled in the last two weeks. I had put this in cart previously thought I had ordered and did not since the price increase. Do you offer any promotions?
Hi Cathy, please send an email to support@createmycookbook.com. We will be more than happy to look into this for you!
